For years, the first thing I would do when I entered a restaurant was to look for the restroom. I was so accustomed to the choking sensation that accompanied eating meat or anything with a thicker consistency than rice that I could not even enjoy an evening out to dinner. Since my Laproscopic Nissen procedure, I can eat anything that I want…comfortably! I no longer have to worry about having Tums available at mealtime and I have not taken Nexium, Prilosec or Prevacid even once since my procedure.
My quality of life has improved so much since the procedure and I have the added benefits of no longer have reflux or continuing damage to my esophagus.
I was used to having my esophagus dialated every few months with very little relief, but after my procedure, which only required only a couple of nights in the hospital and a few very tiny scars, I am asymptomatic.
Dr. David Hayes and Dr. Sam Sawyer are not only excellent physicians that are genuinely concerned about their patients health and quality of life, but are truly miracleworkers!
